About

Laurie Let’s eat some frosting! Let’s grab a spoon and eat it straight out of the bowl. Don’t worry if the kitchen is a disaster or there’s flour in your hair. If you love making sweets to share with the people you love, this blog is for you.

I’m Laurie, a thirty-something year old wife and mom. Those are my two favorite roles. I’m also a news reporter. That job puts me front and center to see some disheartening things. Baking allows me to focus my energy on creating something that will bring people happiness.

So I look forward to sharing recipes and baking ideas with you. I’ll be posting recipes for frostings, fillings, cakes, cookies, and everything in between. I’ll also let you in on some kitchen confessions about what it took to get them just right.

You’ll also get to sample fun kid-friendly recipes I mix up with my “baking buddy.” That’s my three year old son, CJ. When something gets the CJ stamp of approval his face lights up as he smiles, “It’s deeeeeeeelicious.”

I’m glad to continue this family tradition. My passion for baking and sharing started in my late Grandma Jane’s kitchen. Some of my happiest memories include her table strewn with a circus of animal shaped cookie cutters, candy decorations, and homemade sugar cookie dough

There is nothing quite like seeing someone smile because you took the time to create something special for them.

So let’s get baking to make the world a little sweeter, one smile at a time.
